Even though you are still here

Heart’s breaking into a million pieces

as your time draws ever near

I grieved for you today

I realised it wasn’t a dream

So angry at the world

and at life for being so mean

I grieved for you today

Overwhelming emotions I can’t deny

How do you prepare for the end

when you’re not ready to say goodbye

I grieved for you today

Knowing you wish you could stay

Holding on tightly to memories

Watching you slowly fading away

I grieved for you today

through hours and hours of tears

But I’ll take comfort in the thought

You’ll soon be reunited with others you hold dear

I grieved for you today

but didn’t let you know
